job function: Accountabilities
- Define user requirements accurately and clearly in order to design software development that is matching customer needs
- Perform extensive user testing and give training for the selected information systems in order to stimulate colleagues to work efficiently with the designed and proposed systems
- Effectively consult and liaise with system stakeholders, members of the IT team and outsourcing partners in order to propose and implement solutions that are bringing value to all stakeholders
- Conceive, design, test and maintain business process automations to bring value to the business and by ensuring integration and compatibility with the rest of the IT infrastructure
- Provide user and support documentation, test logs and other relevant documents to facilitate release to production
- Challenge existing business processes to discover better ways of doing business
- Implement automated acceptance test using the most appropriate testing framework in order to minimize the manual work and error rate in test results
- Support, consult and coach users to apply information technology in order to improve their and the organization’s effectiveness
- Evangelize and coach end-users about software development methods.
job requirements: Competencies
- Ability to use models as effective representations of reality (UML, DFD, Lists, mind maps, Rich Pictures, …)
- Ability to detect, point out and clarify ambiguity
- Ability to logically and systematically approach complex problems and effectively advocate sound solutions to complex problems
- Knowledge of Database management systems (Cassandra, Hadoop, Redis, HBase,…)
- Knowledge of software development with Java, JEE
- Good knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Groovy, Python, Ruby, …) for automated and ad hoc data handling
- Good knowledge on software testing methods and practices
- Knowledge and ability to apply and implement Project Management and Service Management processes. (ITIL, PMI, Scrum, …).
- Understanding of the business’ mission, strategic imperatives and values and ability to translate them into the day to day work
- Constantly search for customer information and feedback to ensure that current and planned work activities, products and services promote customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Ability to implement action plans, processes and guidelines in the day to day work
Requirements
- Masters or Bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent
- Languages: Java, Ruby, Python. Knowledge of C++ will be a benefit
- Databases and transactional systems: Oracle, SQL
- Knowledge of Business intelligence, DWH, data science, Big data, data transformation, … are strong assets
- Systems knowledge: Windows, Linux, Unix
- Hardware: LAN equipment (servers, hubs, routers, etc.)
- Experience with automated unit, integration and functional tests
- Practical knowledge of Project Management
- English language.
