BICC congres 26 maart 2015 – Digitale disruptie? Business Intelligence slaat terug!

8ste BI congres van het BICC-Thomas More: 26 maart 2015
Donderdag 26 maart 2015 – 16u tot 20u
Campus De Ham, Raghenoplein 21bis, 2800 Mechelen
Deelnemen is GRATIS, inschrijven verplicht.

Performance MANAGEMENT 3.0 – De evidentie zelf

Seminar – Infofarm – March 18th – Harvesting Business Value with Data Science

Infofarm

Wannes Rosiers  Wannes Rosiers from Infofarm in Kontich asked us to communicate this interesting event.

Data Science is a science combining Statistics, Mathematics and Computer Sciences, in order to extract meaning (and business value) from various data sources.
Using those skills, we can do all sorts of stuff: stock or order prediction, recommendations for your clients, anomaly and fraud detection, automatic text classification, you name it!
In this down-to-earth seminar InfoFarm will present you many possible use cases. It will be a collection of fictive as well as real-life examples. In particular Els Descheemaeker will present how she implemented (big) data science at Essent.
Intended Audience: We will not go into mathematical detail or computer code. This seminar is intended for business people eager to learn what data science can do for them.

      AGENDA

09:00 Welcome & Coffee
09:30 Introduction: What is Data Science?
10:00 Data Science examples:
  • Fictive examples
  • InfoFarm use-cases

Seminar – Keyrus – Sales and Marketing Analytics – 10th March 2015

logo_keyrus_(mauritius)_ltd

Catherine Homel   Catherine Homel from Keyrus has asked us to communicate this interesting seminar.

Come and join us to find out how Keyrus, thanks to Big Data, helps its clients improve sales and marketing.

The digital era has thrown the marketing role into turmoil: the speed at which an offer becomes obsolete, depreciation of “client capital”, users taking control of the relationship via multiple channels. To offer clients a very personalized experience and get back in the driving seat of the relationship, marketing departments need to tame the data dragon, turning data profusion into actionable insights.
Big data, however, is not only about data. It involves changing company cultures and building a common understanding between the business and IT . This new paradigm creates complex challenges for companies that need to move away from the traditional hierarchical approach towards a more agile methodology and mindset.

Come and join us to find out how Keyrus, thanks to Big Data, helps its clients improve sales and marketing. For example, how can you make insights personalized and prescriptive? How can you combine traditional and behavioural insights to understand triggers better? How to visualize these insights in your story towards the marketing team? How can you optimise the usage of your different channels?

Agenda

16.00    Welcome – doors open

16.30    Data: the super power of the marketer!
Marc Rouselle – Partner, Keyrus Managment

17.00    Practical cases: from data to prescriptive insights and personalized
omni-channel marketing

17.45    Round table
Philip Allegaert – Director Big Data & Analytics

18.25    Warm up

18.30    Walking dinner

Who should attend?

Marketing managers, CMO’s, CDO’s, customer intelligence managers, CRM- managers, sales managers, innovation managers and CEO’s who are seeking inspiration to embed analytics in improving sales and marketing operations.

Data Innovation

Training – KULeuven – Data Science in Practice – 5-6 February 2015

Data Science in Practice

INTRODUCTION

Modern information and communication technology is increasingly capable of collecting and generating large amounts of data that need to be analyzed to become useful or profitable. In fact, these amounts quickly become too large for immediate human understanding, leading to a situation in which “we are drowning in data but starved for knowledge”.

Data science represents an essential technology to transform such data into knowledge. It allows the automated discovery of interesting regularities or anomalies in large databases, thereby surpassing standard statistical summarizing. Typical tasks include the construction of predictive and descriptive models for classification, regression, clustering, associations, and probabilistic inference.

The DTAI research group of the department of Computer Science, KU Leuven, presents a course that provides a gentle introduction to data science for professionals who need to analyze data themselves, interpret results obtained using data science techniques, or give guidance to data analysts. The course introduces the principles, techniques and methodology of data science. It provides the attendants with an overview of the wide variety of data science techniques available, insight in which techniques are useful for what kind of tasks, expertise with practical data science tools, and real-life case studies.

The target audience of this course consists of professionals who experience a need for a better understanding of data science: which tasks can be solved, which techniques can be used, which are their strengths and weaknesses.
