Nurturing your Data Scientists : 70 years of accumulated experience at your service!

The Data Science community is proud to announce the entrance in of a startup dedicated to data scientists coaching and nurturing: WeLoveDataScience

Data scientist… Where are you? Do you really exist?

That’s the question many managers do currently face. Data Scientists is a scarce 5-legs sheeps: difficult to find, difficult to hire and difficult to keep.

WeLoveDataScience is a brand new business unit, hosted at the European Data Innovation Hub, dedicated to searching, selecting, training, coaching and nurturing data science talents. The Belgian market does not propose enough candidates: we will take care to train next-gen data scientists for you.

Whatever your projects are, we propose to prepare for you the data scientist(s) you need, following these 7 steps:

  1. Together we prepare a detailed job description corresponding to your real needs: is this about data analysis, basic queries, reporting, data mining, big data or new technologies?
  2. We identify candidates on the market in particular through close collaborations with Belgian universities (Ghent, ULB/VUB, UCLouvain…)
  3. You hire the right candidate!
  4. He/she assists a 12 weeks data science bootcamp , including: high-level overview, data science for business, technical stack (SAS, R, Python…), introduction to specific technologies/topics (NoSQL or graph databases, social network analysis, text-mining..)
  5. Then he/she works for you at our offices during 4 tot 6 month, coached by one of our expert. On the job coaching on real projects: your projects but also hackathons, technology workshops, meetups…
  6. After those 10 intensive months, (s)he is ready to work for you on site. (S)He will demonstrate his/her knowledge by giving a course on a specific topic and/or writing entries in specialised blogs, giving a presentation at a conference…
  7. We assist you in yearly evaluation and follow-up.

Our intentions for 2016 are to help companies create and develop data science teams and to build a data science culture… And WeLoveDataScience: this is 70 years of accumulated experience at your disposal!

Want to know more? Visit: , send an email to or simply fill in this contact form. We will visit and explain what we do and brainstorm about your specific needs.

P&G serves consumers around the world with one of the strongest portfolios of trusted, quality, leadership brands, including Always®, Ambi Pur®, Ariel®, Dash®, Gillette®, Head & Shoulders®, Lenor®, Olaz®, Oral-B®, Pampers® and Pantene®. The P&G community includes operations in approximately 70 countries worldwide.

The P&G Brussels Innovation Center hosts the biggest Fabric & Home Care R&D facility for P&G in Europe.

A Company of Leading Brands

Across our ten categories, P&G has 21 brands with annual sales of $1 billion to about $10 billion, and 11 brands with sales of $500 million to $1 billion – many of those with billion-dollar potential.

Please visit for the latest news and information about P&G and its brands.

Sustainability at P&G

P&G is committed to touching and improving lives in a way that preserves and protects the planet. We have established a long-term vision which can only be achieved by setting short-term goals to ensure we stay on track.

We want people who choose P&G brands to know that our products are created with a commitment to sustainability. From formulation to manufacturing to package design and shipment, our products are made responsibly and without trade-offs in performance or value.

Our approach to bring our strategies to life and accelerate progress is to Preserve, Partner and Pioneer.

We Preserve

preserveWe are working to use less while doing more by reducing our environmental footprint and increasing our positive impact on the communities we serve.

Our Pampers teams in Western Europe cut packaging by 80% by moving from “box-to-bag” packaging, saving 6,000+ tons of material, 430+ truckloads and 160+ tons of CO2 emissions per year.

In the last 20 years, Pampers has reduced 50% of the weight of each diaper and 70% of the external packaging.

We Partner

partnerWe can accomplish more with partners than we can alone.

P&G plans to meet its North America electricity demands by using 100 percent wind power to make iconic Fabric & Home Care brands, such as Tide and Dawn. This is possible thanks to a new partnership with EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) which will see a new Texas based wind farm generate 370,000 MWh of electricity each year. The wind farm will be fully operational in December 2016.

With support of more than 150 global partners, our key corporate cause, The P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program, marked its tenth year supporting families and children in some of the most remote parts of the world with clean drinking water.

We Pioneer

pioneerWe aim to improve tomorrow through industry-leading innovation.

We are turning agricultural corn waste into a key cleaning ingredient for Tide Coldwater. Working with DuPont, we developed a breakthrough process that will turn 7,000 tons of agricultural waste annually into cellulosic ethanol. Tide Coldwater is the first brand in the world on a path to blend cellulosic ethanol in a scalable and commercial way.

Interesting blog post on Artificial Intelligence

Patrick Rhodes published a very interesting blog post on the history and possible future or Artificial Intelligence. He neatly explains the difference between our current version of AI, where computers mostly follow a rule book without understanding those rules, and ‘strong’ AI, where the computer really understands the rules. Here are his opening paragraphs, setting the tone for the rest of the article:

Yesterday, the very best AI (artificial intelligence) had trouble beating a novice human chess player. Today, the very best human player has enormous difficulty beating the best AI. Tomorrow, the very best human player will never beat any AI. However, that’s not the worst news you’ve heard. This is:

Computers have no idea how to play chess whatsoever.

They also don’t understand Chinese, but that doesn’t stop them from trouncing us in chess or speaking Chinese. Let’s find out how this is possible and speculate on whether or not we can actually create an AI capable of true understanding.
