Don’t let the picture fool you – this was us just taking a breather from all the data-for-good action going on this month! We’ve been rolling up our sleeves, busting out our laptops and doing our favorite thing of all – pro bono data projects. We then celebrated Pro Bono Week by featuring perspectives from our volunteers and nonprofit partners.Arise from your bean bag chair and read on to see just how powerful data-for-good can be.

Celebrating Pro Bono Week
Last week DataKind joined Taproot Foundation to celebrate Pro Bono Week, a global celebration of the pro bono ethic across all professions that use their talents to make a difference. It was perfect timing for our DC and San Francisco Chapters to host their launch events as well as do pro bono consulting at local nonprofit resource fairs. We also took the opportunity to demystify what pro bono data science and the Data-for-Good movement is all about – people! Check out the first of our four-part blog series where Hannah Underwood, CEO of The Key and DataKind UK Chapter Leader, explains why she thinks pro bono data science can change the world.
